Privacy Policy

You can read the guides and use most public tools without creating an account or providing an email address.

If you ask us to email lawyer-finding resources or local coverage updates, we collect your email address, ZIP code, state, general topic, consent record, and the page where you made the request. We do not ask for a case narrative in that form.

Some interactive tools ask for facts needed to display an educational result. Depending on the tool, those facts may remain in your browser or be sent to DocketBuddy infrastructure to complete the request.

The SSDI Evidence Organizer keeps its twelve item-level answers in your browser tab. If you separately request human follow-up, we collect your email, optional phone, state, ZIP code, selected process stage, consent record, and three aggregate checklist totals. We do not receive the item-level answers or a case narrative.

The SSDI Work Capacity Timeline keeps its months, categories, change types, frequencies, and private notes in your browser tab. It does not submit anything to SSA. DocketBuddy receives only coarse usage events such as the tool being started or completed. If you separately request updates, we receive the email address and consent record you submit – not the timeline.

• Provide the guide, tool result, resource email, or notification you requested.
• Hold and respond to a human follow-up request you explicitly submit.
• Measure which public topics and locations need better coverage.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve the public experience.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal process.

DocketBuddy is operated by Buddy Labs LLC. You do not pay to read a Public Guide or use a public tool. The service remains free whether or not you ask for help finding an attorney.

DocketBuddy currently supports Public Guides through paid workflow software for independent law firms. We do not currently earn referral fees when a Public Guides visitor asks for legal-help resources or local coverage information.

If DocketBuddy later receives payment for an attorney introduction, we will explain that arrangement before you choose the introduction. Payment would not change whether the guides and tools are available to you.

We do not sell personal information, tool answers, case details, coverage requests, or de-identified Public Guides data. We do not share Public Guides information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not use Public Guides personal information, tool answers, case details, or coverage requests to train DocketBuddy or third-party AI models. If a future feature uses AI to provide a result you request, we will identify the feature and explain what information is sent before you use it.

A coverage request is not an attorney referral, legal intake, or attorney-client relationship. DocketBuddy does not currently operate a public attorney directory.

We do not send your coverage-request information to attorneys. If DocketBuddy later offers a way to contact a selected attorney, that would require a separate, explicit action from you.

Asking for attorney information will never be required to use a guide or public tool. Any future compensation DocketBuddy receives for an introduction will be disclosed before you choose it.

An SSDI Evidence Organizer follow-up request is held for DocketBuddy human review. It does not guarantee a lawyer review, referral, or representation, and the organizer’s item-level answers are not sent to DocketBuddy or an attorney.

The first email contains the public resources you requested. Coverage notifications become active only after you use the confirmation link in that email. Each coverage email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Disability-process and work-capacity organizing updates are separate choices. They become active only after email confirmation and can be unsubscribed from independently. Asking for human follow-up does not subscribe you to those updates.

We collect limited technical and usage information such as page paths, referral source, device/browser information, and coarse interaction events. We do not send email addresses, ZIP codes, or tool answers into the public analytics event stream. Session-replay analytics are disabled on the Public Guides site.

We use service providers for hosting, databases, error monitoring, analytics, and email delivery, including Vercel, Supabase, Railway, Sentry, and Resend. They process information for DocketBuddy under their applicable service terms.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, maintain reliable records, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Unsubscribing deactivates future coverage notifications; you may separately request deletion.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

The Public Guides site is not directed to children under 13, and the coverage-notification form is intended for adults. We may update this policy as the public service changes and will revise the date above.
